About Us
Shortly after my grandmother died, the memory of her begin to fade far too quickly. Who she was, what she sounded like, what she looked like, her character, mannerisms and the true essence of who she really was. I was left desperately clutching onto a fading memory, when all I wanted was something I could hold on to, relive and reexperience at the moments when I truly needed it.
Not every day, but at times when I needed her most.
The only thing I had left was a few old photographs that got divided up into the family and a short but sweet answering machine message that lasts for 7 seconds.
After been in the entertainment/media industry for my entire career and recording people.
I knew that capturing the memories of people before it was too late was exactly what was needed.
After filming my own family, What was originally a small love project took off overnight and became what is now Capturing Memories. I was contacted by friends of friends, extended family and even strangers who had seen what I had done and wanted me to create the capturing memories experience for them and their loved ones, just like I had done for my own family.
This is something that you will have for the rest of your life, This is something that will be cherished and replayed, not every day, but at times when it is needed. This is something that you need to do before its too late.
Everyone thinks ‘someday I will get around to doing it’. yet everyone thinks that their ‘someday’ is at 99 and ¾ .
Unfortunately, the reality is we don’t all make it that far. When that fateful day comes, Your possessions will be divided and this is the only thing that your family truly, truly wants.
As each generation of your family grows, this experience will be revisited over and over again.
Imagine if you could have had this from your parents, Grandparents or even your Great-Grandparents.
I hope you open up your hearts, your home to the team at Capturing Memories and let them give you the only gift that I wanted from my own grandmother.
Sincerely,
Winston Swanson-Hill
